Paint the vision: WHY we are there

  • Show abortion victim image on screen
  • Babies are being murdered
  • Our effective intervention can reduce the likelihood babies will be murdered
  • People are doomed to burn in hell if they continue on this path
  • They need the Lord and we can point them to Him

HOW can we be there effectively? Top Three Issues

1. Strategic placement

  • Prioritize positions for teams of any size
  • Vehicle or pedestrian
  • Where is most traffic coming from
  • Where is the least interference from opposition?

2. Clumping together

    • Don’t!
    • To stay focused always be intentional on spotting women – avoid chit chat
    • Stay spread out
    • Stay at your post
    • If mom stops to engage, ONLY the one who stopped her should be engaging. Do not approach them unless called over to help
    3. First Impressions

    • You only have once to make a favorable first impression
    • Your goal is to transfer their trust in the abortion center to you and ultimately to God
    • Smile and wave.
    • Friendly BOLD confidence
    • The goal is not to first convey information, but to start a conversation.
    • The goal is relational.
    • Ask questions that are not too intrusive with offers of help (ie): ”Are you headed to the abortion clinic? Please take this information. My name and number are on the back and we have so much help available for you.”
    • Conversation starters are important, but you may not have much time so you probably don’t want to talk about the weather. Here are some examples:

“We can get you a free ultrasound right away. Do you know how far along you are?”

“What makes you feel abortion is a good choice?”

              “Do you believe in God?”

“You don’t seem like you are excited about doing this. Can we talk about other options and help available?”

(And LISTEN to our podcasts! They really do address so many common struggles!)
